A few months ago I heard about Australian artist James Gulliver's attempt to draw all the
buildings in New York City. He started his adventure last April and has been sharing his
work on his blog, ALL THE BUILDINGS IN NEW YORK.
Every few weeks I check back to see if he has by chance drawn one of my old apartment
buildings or offices, but no luck yet! He has come close a few times though...
3rd Avenue Citarella (my favorite neighborhood gourmet market) on 3rd Avenue
1744 2nd Avenue, right around the corner from my first apartment at 1705 First Ave
and 889 Broadway, just up the street from my office at 770 Broadway.
Here are a few other he has done of famous NY landmarks...
The Plaza Hotel
The New Yorker
660 Madison Avenue, aka Barneys
And a few of my favorite random buildings. I just love his style and subtle use of color!
Rivington between Orchard and Ludlow
46th Street
5th Street at Bowery
4th Street between First and Avenue A
I definitely want to get one of his prints to add to my NY art collection. I just can't decide which one yet!
Love these! I so enjoy your blog (and your comments on mine : )
